The short version

1. Who this is between

Chief is run by Rocket Role, Inc., doing business as Pod Engine, a Delaware corporation ("we", "us"). "You" are the person who applies for or uses Chief, and the podcast or business you use it for.

By applying on chief.fm or messaging Chief on Telegram, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Chief.

Chief is for people running a podcast as a business or working toward one. You confirm that you are 18 or over, that you are using Chief for your show and not as a consumer, and that the show is yours or you are authorized to act for it.

2. The trial

The trial is free and lasts 14 days. It starts when Chief finds the Chief link in your show notes.

Places are limited and we choose who gets one. We can decline an application, or end or change a trial, at any time and without giving a reason.

When the trial ends, Chief stops working for you until you pay. We may, at our choice, offer more free time in return for something else, such as inviting another podcaster. An offer like that is not owed to anyone.

3. The Chief link

The link is the line "Run with Chief: https://chief.fm" in your show notes, where listeners can see it. Chief checks your public feed for it, before the trial and from time to time after.

The $49 price is for shows that keep the link in place on every new episode. If the link goes missing, we may pause Chief until it is back or until you move to the price without the link.

You agree that we may say publicly that your show uses Chief, using its name and artwork. Tell us if you would rather we did not, and we will stop.

4. Price and payment

To keep Chief after the trial: $49 a month with the link, or $999 a month without it. Prices are in US dollars and do not include any tax we are required to add.

Payment is taken by Stripe, monthly and in advance, and renews each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and Chief keeps working until the end of the month you have paid for. We do not refund part months or months already paid, unless the law says we must.

We can change the price. We will tell you in the chat at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.

If a payment fails, Chief may stop working until it goes through.

5. What Chief does, and what stays with you

Chief researches sponsors and guests, drafts emails, briefs you before recordings and sends you notes on your interviewing. It does this from public information, from data we buy from other companies, and from what you tell it.

Chief does not send email. It writes the email. You read it, change it if you want, and send it from your own inbox. Anything you send is yours: you are responsible for what it says, who it goes to, and for following the rules on business email and marketing where you and the recipient are.

Chief may give you the name, role and work email of a person at a brand. These come from public sources and from data suppliers and can be out of date or wrong. How you use them is your responsibility.

Any deal you make with a sponsor or a guest is between you and them. We are not a party to it and take no share of it.

6. Chief can be wrong

Chief is built on AI models. It checks its own work, but it can still state something untrue, miss something, or misread a transcript. Treat what it gives you as a draft and a starting point, not as fact, and not as legal, financial or tax advice.

Transcripts do not say who is speaking, so when Chief says who asked or said something, that is its own read.

We do not promise that Chief will get you a sponsor, a guest, a reply, more listeners or more revenue.

7. What you send Chief, and what Chief writes for you

What you send Chief stays yours. You give us permission to store it and use it to run Chief for you, to keep Chief safe, and to improve Chief.

The emails, briefs and notes Chief writes for you are yours to use for your show. Similar or identical output may be written for other hosts, and we do not promise it is unique.

Chief itself, including its software, prompts, methods, name and design, belongs to us. We may use what we learn from running Chief, in a form that does not identify you, for any purpose. If you give us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely and owe you nothing for them.

People on our team read conversations with Chief. The privacy note says what we keep and who else sees it.

8. Fair use

Do not use Chief to break the law, to send spam, to harass or mislead anyone, to gather information about private individuals, or for a show that is not yours. Do not try to pull out Chief's instructions or data, get around its limits, resell it, or share your access.

Chief has daily limits on some kinds of work. We set them and can change them.

9. An early product

Chief is new and is provided as it is. It will change. Features may be added, changed or removed, and it may be slow, unavailable or interrupted. It depends on other services, including Telegram, and stops when they do. We make no promise about uptime. To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We may stop offering Chief altogether. If we do while you are paying, we will refund the unused part of your current month.

10. Limits on what we are liable for

To the fullest extent the law allows:

These limits apply whatever the kind of claim, and even if we were told the loss was possible. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

11. If someone makes a claim because of how you used Chief

If a third party brings a claim against us because of an email you sent, content you gave Chief, your show, or your breach of these terms, you will cover our reasonable costs and losses from it.

12. Stopping

You can stop at any time: tell Chief, and cancel your payment if you have one. Say "stop" to pause Chief's unprompted messages without ending anything.

We can pause or end your access at any time. If we end it without cause while you are paying, we will refund the unused part of your current month. If we end it because you broke these terms, we will not.

Sections 5 to 7, 10, 11 and 14 carry on after you stop. To have your data deleted, see the privacy note.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The latest version is always on this page with its date. If a change matters to you, Chief will tell you in the chat. Carrying on using Chief after a change means you accept it.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law.

Tell us first if something is wrong, and give us 30 days to put it right. Any dispute we cannot settle that way will be decided by binding arbitration in Wilmington, Delaware, before one arbitrator, and not in court. Claims can be brought only on your own behalf, not as part of a class or group action, and both of us give up the right to a jury trial. Either of us may still go to court to protect intellectual property or to collect money owed.

If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms and the privacy note are the whole agreement between us about Chief.
